SHAGGY

VERSE 1:
You go crazy everyday,
Every time I run astray,
I’ll bet you really wonder where I go.
Let me tell you honestly,
Please don’t take it personally,
There’s some things about me you don’t know.

CHORUS:
I love my freedom, love my fun,
But if you’re callin’ me to come,
Anytime, no matter where I roam,
Say it once, say it twice,
Feels so good, sounds so nice,
You yell “Shaggy”, I’ll come runnin’ home.

VERSE 2:
Now I don’t leave the neighborhood,
We both agree, it’s understood,
You made that very clear when I was small.
But I got all these things to do,
Just for me, and not for you,
But I’ll always be your puppy when you call.

CHORUS:

VERSE 3:
When I’m strollin’ down the street,
Lookin’ for a pooch in heat,
In that brand new collar that you bought,
There’s a lady lovin’ me,
Starin’ from the balcony,
I can tell she thinks I’m really hot.
But then your voice comes loud and clear,
Perkin’ up my canine ear,
My feet feel like they’re glued right to the ground.
No time for another tree,
And all those possibilities,
I’ll see her the next time I’m around.

Chorus:
Repeat Chorus:

MY DOG HAS FLEAS

CHORUS:
My dog has fleas,
My dog has fleas,
My dog has fleas,
My dog has fleas.

VERSE 1:
I heard a moan in the yard,
There he was workin’, way too hard.
I saw him smilin’ with his back against the tree.
He said, “The bark works better than the bite for me”.
He don’t let nothin’ get under his skin.
That’s OK by me if it’s OK by him….

CHORUS 1:
My dog has fleas
My dog has fleas
From his tail to his mouth,
Goin’ north, goin’ south,
My dog has fleas.

VERSE 2:
Here comes my pettigree,
Trippin’ and fallin’ tryin’ to bite that flea.
Everybody knows, it’s a natural fact,
All God’s children got an itch they gotta scratch.
Horses got flies and pigs got slop,
They’re all happy with what they’ve got…..

CHORUS 2:
My dog has fleas,
My dog has fleas,
From his head to his tail
There’s a well-worn trail…
My dog has fleas.

SOLO:

VERSE 3:
They’re scratchin’ in the junkyard,
They’re scratchin’ in the street,
They’re scratchin’ on the shagg in the penthouse suite,
Some of them purebreds,
Some of them mutts,
All them bitin’ and scratchin’ their butts.
Every tail-waggin’ tongue-draggin’ breed of canine,

Got a situation just like mine….

CHORUS 3:
My dog has fleas,
My dog has fleas,
From his top to his bottom,
My dog’s got ‘em…
My dog has fleas
They’re getting under my skin
My dog has fleas
It don’t seem to bother him
My dog has fleas
Lord knows where he’s been
My dog has fleas
They’re sneakin’ under my door
My dog has fleas
Leapin over my floor
My dog has fleas
They’re worse than ever before
My dog has fleas
He’s just scratchin’ away
My dog has fleas
Each and every day
My dog has fleas
He’s got no time to play
My dog has fleas
He’s got me on my knees
My dog has fleas
Somebody help me please
My dog has fleas

LESTER

By Neil Finn
Saw my life go flashing past
In the eyes of a faithful friend
Four legs four lives
And the screeching tyres never seem to end
I will change if Lester lives
Not mess him round just cause I own him
He was nearly wiped away
But he had good luck and strong bones
you make me clench my teeth
Us humans ain't got dignity
Eat my plants and steal my things
You're the head of security
I will change if Lester lives
Not mess him round just cause I own him
He was nearly wiped away
But he had good luck and strong bones
Inside and behind him
I will change if Lester lives
Not mess him round
Just cause I own him.

MORE LIKE YOU

VERSE 1:
Soft and tender, tough as steel,
Here and now, you know what's real.
No one tells you how to feel.
You lie there so peacefully,
Loving unconditionally.
I wish I were less like me.

CHORUS:
What can I do
To be more like you?
When I get in my way,
What would you say
To get me through?
Days like these,
I know I need
To be
More Like You.

VERSE 2:
As I try to beat the clock,
That voice inside my head won't stop.
You just sit, no need to talk.
As the sun is going down,
You just smile and I just frown.
I'm so lost, and you're so found.

CHORUS:
What can I do
To be more like you?
When I get in my way,
What would you say
To get me through?
Days like these,
I know I need
To be
More Like You.

BRIDGE:
All the commotion,
All the Human misery,

In a world that's so confused.
But your love and devotion,
Such a perfect mystery,
Guiding me to someday be...
To be more like you

VERSE 3:
Life is short, here and gone.
Through the tears, I'll carry on.
Give me hope and keep me strong...
To face my trouble, to know what's true,
To treat each day like it's brand new.
I know that's what you would do.

CHORUS (last):
That's what I'll do
To be more like you!
When I get in my way,
That's what I'll say
To get me through!
Days like these,
It's hard to be...
Yes days like these
I know I need
To be
More like you.

SHE’S MY D.O.G.

Let me tell you ‘bout my baby,
She’s all legs and hair.
We spend our time together,
We’re really quite a pair.
She is always in a good mood,
She’s just as happy as can be.
She’s my sweet little angel,
She’s my D.O.G.

Well she’s never never angry,
And she’s never never sad.
She’s like no other woman,
She’s the best I ever had.
I don’t have to do the dishes,
I do anything I please.
This bitch is never bitchy,
She’s my D.O.G.

Now I come home sad and lonely,
And she’s been at home all day,
But she runs and greets me in a most
Enthusiastic Way.
And then we hang together…
We hang all night long!
She’s my sentimental sweetie,
She’s my D.O.G.

My baby’s always faithful,
She never strays too far.
And when I see my lover,
She goes with me in the car.
And while I’m makin’ Whoopie,
She watches…patiently.
And when I’m done, she’s kiss me!
She’s my D.O.G.
Yes when I’m done, she’ll kiss me…
She’s my D.O.G.

OLD KING by Neil Young

King went a-runnin' after deer
Wasn't scared of jumpin'
off the truck in high gear
King went a-sniffin'
and he would go
Was the best old hound dog
I ever did know.

I had a dog and his name was King
I told the dog about everything
There in my truck the dog and I
Then one day the King up and died.

Then I thought about
the times we had
Once when I kicked him
when he was bad
Old King sure meant a lot to me
But that hound dog is history.

King went a-runnin' after deer
Wasn't scared of jumpin'
off the truck in high gear
King went a-sniffin'
and he would go
Was the best old hound dog
I ever did know.

That old King was a friend of mine
Never knew a dog
that was half as fine
I may find one, you never do know
'Cause I still got a long way to go.

I had a dog and his name was King
I told the dog about everything
Old King sure meant a lot to me
But that hound dog is history.

King went a-howlin' after deer
Wasn't scared of jumpin'
off the truck in high gear
King went a-sniffin'
and he would go
Was the best old hound dog
I ever did know.

OLD BLUE by Russell Tom

Well, I had an old dog and his name was Blue,
Had an old dog and his name was Blue.
Had an old dog and his name was Blue...
Betcha five dollars he's a good dog too...
"Here old Blue"
"Good dog you"

Well, I shouldered my axe and I tooted my horn,
Went to find 'possum in the new-grown corn.
Old Blue treed and I went to see,
Blue had 'possum up a tall oak tree.
Mmm, boy I roast'd 'possum, nice and brown,
Sweet po-ta-toes, n' all a-round...
And to say "Here old Blue (here-boy)
You can have some too"

Now, Old Blue died and he died so hard,
Made a big dent in my back-yard.
Dug his grave with a silver spade,
Lowered him down with a link of chain.
Ev-er-y link I did call his name...
Singing "Here…old...Blue-ue...
"Good dog you"

Now, when I get to heaven, first thing I'll do.
When I get to heaven, first thing 'awm do.
When I get to heaven first thing I'll do,
Pull out my horn and call old Blue...
I'll say, "Here Old Blue come-on dog"
"Good dog you."

I'll say, "Here Blue-e"
"I'm a coming there too"
"Down boy... good dog"

OLD SHEP Music & Lyrics by Red Foley

When I was a lad, and Old Shep was a pup,
Over hills and meadows we’d stray.
Just a boy and his dog, we were both full on fun,
We grew up together that way.

I remember the time at the old fishin’ hole,
When I would have drowned beyond doubt.
Shep was right there, to the rescue he came.
He jumped in and then pulled me out.

As the years fast did roll, Old Shep he grew old,
His eyes grew cloudy and dim.
And one day the doctor looked at him and said,
“I can do no more for him”.
With hands that were trembling, I picked up my gun,
And aimed it at Shep’s faithful head.
I just couldn’t do it, I wanted to run,
I wish they would shoot me instead.

He came to my side, and he looked up at me,
And he laid his old head on my knee.
I stroked the best friend that a man ever had,
I cried so I scarcely could see.
Old Shepie he knew he was going to go,
As he reached out and licked at my hand.
He looked up at me, just as much as to say,
“We’re parting, but you understand”.

Old Shep he has gone where the good doggies go,
And no more with Old Shep will I roam.
But if dogs have a heaven, there’s one thing I know,
Old Shep has a wonderful home.
